Kilishi is what happens when beef is sliced paper-thin, coated in a groundnut and spice paste, dried in the sun and then fired one last time over low heat. The result is dense, chewy and heavily spiced – closer to a meal than a snack.
What you get:
- Lean beef, hand-sliced and traditionally sun-dried
- Coated in a groundnut, ginger, chilli and onion paste
- Peppery heat that builds rather than burns
- Contains groundnuts (peanuts)
Eat straight from the pack or soften into stews and rice dishes. Reseal and keep somewhere cool and dry.
